Mt.Tienchu's travelogue  —— 天柱山遊記

     The Tienchu mountain(天柱山), is located with in the boundaries of Qianshan county(潜山县) Anqing city(安庆市) in the south and west of the Anhui province of China(中国安徽),The county seat enters the scenic area to northwest 9 kilometers. Total area 304 ㎢(square kilometers),account for the Qianshan county total area 1686.03 square kilometers 18.03%. main scenic area 82.46 square kilometers. The State Council announced for the national key scenery scenic spot area(国家重点风景名胜区) in 1982, It had the honor to receive the national 4A level traveling area(国家4A级旅游区) and the nation civilized forest park(全国文明森林公园) title in 2001. Authorizes for the national geology park(国家地质公园) in 2005.

   In order that our more foreign friends know about Chinese landscape culture(山水文化), is trying to write travelogue in English.I gratefully welcome every teacher's coorections. or welcome everybody add an augment to this travelogue in Chinese， my translated edition later up.

    天柱山，位於中國安徽省西部安慶市潛山縣境內，景區位於縣城西北部9公里。總面積304平方千米(其中主景區102.72平方千米)。佔潛山縣總面積1686.03平方公里的百分之18.03。主景區82.46平方公里。1982年國務院公布為國家重點風景名勝區，2001年榮獲國家4A級旅遊區和全國文明森林公園稱號。2005年批准為國家地質公園。

Topographical feature：

    This scenery scenic area located is near by the southern end Dabie mountains,the Mt.Huo sierra prominent peak,Its terrain characteristic is "west-high, -eastlow", and "north-high, south-low".

天柱山地形特徵：

    這個風景區接近大別山南部的末端，霍山山脈的峰頂, 它的地形特徵是“西高-東低”,“北高-南低”。

 

     Mt.Tienchu used to be called Mt.Wan, Mt.Longlive,Mt.Ten-thousand(habitually using Mt.Tienchu popular name by geology circles), Mt.Qian,Mt.Huo, until 106 B.C.(Yuanfen-5 year) when Emperor Hanwu does obeisance mountain. It was named "Nanyue" by Emperor Hanwu.
    天柱山過去常被稱作皖山、萬歲山、萬山(地質界慣用的天柱山的俗稱)、潛山、霍山，直到西元前106年( 五年)漢武帝前來拜岳，漢武帝賜名“南岳”。
