#VOICE MAILBOX, EXTERNAL
-DEFINITION:
An external voice store-and-forward system can be connected to
ASB 150 01. The connection is made via an analog extension board.
DTMF signalling is employed.
-USE:
An external voice store-and-forward system can be used in a number of
different applications. This description is only concerned with the
use of a voice store-and-forward system as an external voice mailbox.
-CAPACITY:
The capacity of the voice store-and-forward unit and the number of
simultaneous connections is dependent on the requirements specified
for the voice store-and-forward system.
ASB 150 01 must have the same number of analog connections as the
number of ports available in the voice store-and- forward system.
-LIMITATIONS:
Only digital telephones can have a voice mailbox lamp.
The following DTMF codes (which the connected voice store-and-forward
system must be able to send) are used to light and put out a message
lamp on digital telephones:
To light the lamp:*92* directory no. #
To put out the lamp: #92* directory no. #
-PROGRAMMING:
*5402 Create a PBX group
The analog extension numbers connected to the voice mailbox are
placed in a vacant group for GROUP HUNTING.
*3401 Enter group members
*0125 External voice mail?
Each analog extension position that wishes to have access to the
external voice mailbox must be programmed for this facility.
*2023 Voice mailbox access number
For the system to know what access number to send when the programmed
key is pressed, the chosen group number must be stated.
*3071 Create a category
Only the analog extensions connected to the voice store- and-forward
system will be able to light and put out the message lamps. These
extensions should therefore be placed in a separate service category.
*0301 Program a lamp on the telephone
Each digital extension which is to be connected to the voice mailbox
should program a key for indication of "message present".
-EQUIPMENT:
An ELU-A board for connection of the external voice mailbox.
